OTHER NAMES: "Brother Noah" "Noah"
RELATED TO: "Brother Noah"
SOURCES: Folk Index; Mudcat,
NOTES: "Brother Norah" is a traditional spiritual song by the Angola Quartet in 1958. It's different than the other "Brother Noah" songs in this collection and probably based on Jubilaires "Noah" [link above] or another 1940s version. To hear a similar version only with Jonah as the topic listen to Norfolk Jubilee Singers "Jonah in the Belly of the Whale" on Decca (1938).
The Gospel Giants "Brother Noah" on Savoy from 1961 has a similar opening CHORUS and a vamp with a "Brother Noah' response line.
