It consists of mumbly and gruff vocals set to organ and tambourine. The instrumental coda sounds like somebody tap-dancing along to a carousel pump organ.
Blessed Are The Poor In Spirit- Luther Magby 1927
If you cannot- pray like Daniel
If you cannot- moan like John,
Brother, you will know the love of Jesus,
Cause I say, "He died for us all."
CHORUS: Blessed are the poor in spirit,
Children of the heavenly King,
We shall all wear a crown in glory,
Oh when on earth, our work is done.
If you cannot give a million,
If you can give a widow's mite,
For the least you do, on earth for Jesus,
It is prescious in His sight.
