One Old Crow- Swetnam (MS) 1936 Hudson
[My title. From: Folksongs of Mississippi, Hudson 1936. Hudson's notes follow.
R. Matteson 2014]
Text recovered by Mr. George F. Swetnam, University, from the singing of his father, Mr. W. S. Swetnam, Vaiden, who is a native of Kentucky.
[One Old Crow]
1 One old crow says to his mate,
"What'll we do for grub to eat?"
2 His mate replies, "In yonders lane
Lies an old gray horse, just lately slain.
3 "We'll seat ourselves on his back-bone
And pick his eyes out, one by one."
