R. Matteson 2014]
CC. "The Three Crows." Collected by Miss Martha M. Davis, of Harrisonburg, Va. Given by Miss Mary Spitzer, a student at State Teachers College, Harrisonburg, Va. Rockingham County, 1931.
1 Three crows they sat upon a tree,
As black as any crows could be.
2 One crow said unto his mate,
"What shall we do for something to eat?"
3 "On the other side of yonders plain
There lies a horse but three days slain."
4 "We'll jump right on to his backbone
And pick his eyes out one by one."
