The Three Black Crows- Wright (MO) Belden A

[From Belden; Ballads and Songs, 1940 (Missouri).

A. 'The Three Black Crows.' Communicated by T. C. Wright, Miller County, in 1916, from his father's singing.

There were three crows sat on a tree,
And they were black as crows could be.

Said one crow unto his mate,
'What shall we do for grub to eat?'

'I see a horse on yonders plain
Whose body's been but lately slain.'

'We'll perch ourselves on his breast bone
And pick his eyes out one by one.'
