The Three Crows- Mahnkey (Mo.) 1939 Randolph B
[From Randolph, Ozark Folksongs I, 1947.

B. [Three Black Crows] From Mrs. C. P. Mohnkey, Mincy, Mo., 1939. She called it a drinking song and was usually lined, "just like the minister would line-out hymns at church.
There were three black crows set on a tree,
And they were black as crows could be.
One of these crows said to his mate,
What shall we do for grub to eat?
There is a horse on yanders plain,
We'll eat him up both tail and mane.
We'll light upon his breast bone
And pick his eyes out one by one.
