Elizabeth "Bess" Cronin (née Ó hIarlaithe) (1879 – 1956) was an Irish singer who specialized in traditional music. Born in West Cork, the daughter of Seán Ó hIarlaithe, a schoolteacher, she lived in the Baile Bhuirne area all her life.

My Own Darling Boy- Elizabeth Cronin of County Cork in 1954

What did you have for your breakfast, my own darling boy?
What did you have for your breakfast, my comfort and joy?
A cup of cold poison, mother dress my bed soon,
For there's a pain through my heart and I'd want to lie down.
