Lord Thomas- Sung by Buna Hicks; 2l March 1969
1. Lord Thomas rose early one mornin' in May
And dressed hisself in blue;
Sayin', "Mother, I'm a-goin' to get married today,
And I want advice from you.
2. "The brown girl, she has house and land;
Fair Eleanor, she has none."
"I'll call it a blessin', my own dear child,
If you bring me the brown girl home."
3. He rode till he come to Fair Eleanor's gate;
He rattled at the ring,
There was no one more ready than she was
To arise and let him in.
4. "What is the matter, Lord Thomas?" she cried;
"What is the matter with You?"
"I've come to invite you yo my weddin',
Is that- that's good news to you?"
