B. [Sir Thomas] Last stanza of a version of this ballad, sung by a young man about 1860. Contributed by I. L. M., Vineland, N. J., originally from Lynn, Mass.

"Now dig a grave," Sir Thomas cried,
"And dig it wide and deep,
And place Fair Elinor at my side,
And the brown girl at my feet!"
