The brown girl having a little pen knife
It's blade both peak-ed and sharp
She pointed the point to Fair Elanor's side
And pierced her tender heart.
[Lord Thomas having a sword . .]
In the churchyard three graves were dug,
Both long, wide and deep
Fair Eleanor lay at Lord Thomas's side,
And the brown girl at his feet.
