Old Man Crip
- The Jolly Boys of Lafayette, De 5431- 1937. Transcribed by Judith McCulloh, in 1966, p. 127.

Old man Crip came home last night
As drunk as drunk could be,
Saw a car in his garage
Where his car ought to be.

"Pretty little wife, my darling wife,
My dearest wife," said he,
"What is that, a car in my garage
Where my car ought to be?"

"Silly little fool, my darn little fool,
My son of a gun," said she,
"Can't you see it's a baby carriage
My grandma sent to me?"

"Traveled east and I've traveled west
And I've traveled from shore to shore,
But a baby carriage with headlights on
I never seen before."

Old man Crip came home last night
As drunk as drunk could be,
Saw a head upon his pillow
Where his head ought to be.

"Pretty little wife, my darling wife,
My dearest wife," said he,
Why is there a head upon my pillow
Where my head ought to be?"

"Silly little fool, my darn little fool,
My son of a gun," said she,
"Can't you see it's a little baby
My grandma sent to me?"

"Traveled east and I've traveled west
And I've traveled from shore to shore,
Little baby with a mustache on
I never seen before."
