Young Lady in London- Melton (KY) 1917 Sharp MS

[My title. Single stanza with music from Sharp MS. At least two similar versions are found in Sharp's MSs. cf. Short and Hounchell.

Similar to the Gosport broadsides openings except the second line has been changed:

1) IN Gosport of late there a damsel did dwell,
For wit and for beauty did many excel;

Young Lady in London- Sung by Leona Melton of Hyden, Ky., on October 2, 1917. Collected by Cecil J. Sharp.

In London fair city a lady did dwell,
In London fair city a lady did dwell,
Exceeded in beauty, no tongue could I[1] tell.

1. MS unclear-- could be "I" or "of" but "e'er" works better
