Little Molly- Westmoreland (GA) 1910 Rawn/Campbell MS

[From Campbell MS; surely this  sent by Isabel Rawn to Campbell while Rawn was teaching in Georgia.

Little Molly- sung by Del Westmoreland of White County Georgia, 1910- sent in by Rawn to Campbell.

"Oh Molly, little Molly, you had better agree.
You had better consent and get married to me."

He led over mountains and over hollows  deep,
Until at last Little Molly did bitterly  weep.

Oh Willie, little Willie, you speak just about right
You were digging my grave the best part of last night."

He led over mountains and over hollows high,
And at last came to the grave with a spade lying by.

He opened up her bosom as white as any snow,
He stuck his knife in her and her heart's blood did flow.

He picked her up and kissed her and laid her in the tomb,
And left none but the wild birds to hear her sad moan.

He jumped on his pony and rode as hard as he could go,
And swore to his maker he would sail the other shore.

One day while he was sailing the winds began to blow,
There is [to] little Molly, all in a gore of blood.

"Oh Willie, oh Willie I am sorry to say
this is one debt to the devil you will have to pay."
