Lord Douglas- Raspbury (AL-OK) 1898 Moores

[From the Moores 1964 book, Ballads and Folk Songs of the Southwest; version B, single stanza with music. The only US or Canadian version that can legitimately titled Lord Douglas (after Child B). Unfortunately the rest of the ballad (I'm sure it was not remembered well) is lost.

B. [Lord Douglas] Lord William and Lord Douglas, sung by Mrs. Mary Raspbury of Kinta. Mrs. Raspbury was born in Alabama in 1868 and came to Indian Territory in 1898. She sings the songs of her father, who was born in Alabama.

"Get up, get up Lord Douglas," she cried,
"Get ye up seven sons;
"I'll take care of the youngest daughter,
The oldest one you may seek."
