[Bronson No. 10; sung circa 1865-1870 in Penn Township, Johnson City, Iowa. One of the early version collected in the US, unfortunately there are only two verses. Similar to the Carmina Collegensia text with the extended last line- also see Child B, C, and D.

It's Three Times 'Round
- Sung by Violet Selena Hankins (Williams); 1865-1870 in Penn Township, Johnson City, Iowa.

Up spake the cabin boy of our gallant ship
A well-spoken lad was he:
"We poor sailorm'n are going to the top
And the lumbermen are lying down below, low, low,
And the lumbermen are lying down below."

It's three times round went our gallant ship,
And three times round went she;
It's three times round went our gallant ship,
And she sank to the bottom of the sea, sea, sea,
And she sank to the bottom of the sea.
