Scarbro Fair- Anon (York) 1884 Frank Kidson B
[From ESPB's Additions and Corrections, Volume 2. Sent to Child by Mr Frank Kidson, Leeds, 1884; from tradition, 2nd version.
The last stanza Kidson posted in a query to get additional information - so it's from him, the other stanzas are similar to the ones from Strather's version. Kloss suggests it may be Kidson's text.

Scarbro Fair- Anon (Yorkshire? ) 1884 Frank Kidson B
1 'Oh are you going to Scarbro fair?'
Savoury[1], sage, rosemary and thyme
'Remember me to a lass who lives there;
For once she was a true lover of mine.
2. 'Tell her to buy me an acre of land
Savory, sage, rosemary and thyme
Sow it all over with [sea] sand
And then she shall be, etc.
3. 'Reap it with a sickle of leather,
Savory, sage, rosemary and thyme
And tie it up with a peacock's feather,
And then she etc.
4. 'And tell her to wash it in yonder well,
Where no water sprung[2] nor a drop of rain fell;
And tell her to wash it in yonder well,
Or never be a true lover of mine.
1. Savory, changed throughout
2. MS: spring
