Lady Eleanor- (MA) 1920 Barry B
[From British Ballads From Maine- Barry, Eckstorm, Smyth; 1929.
R. Matteson 2014]
A fragment of this ballad, also known as "Lady Eleanor," was printed in "Everybody's Column" of the Boston Sunday Globe, April 18, 1920:
"Rise up, rise up, Lady Eleanor," he said,
"And comb your hair unto your knees,
That you may look a maiden like,
The day I come over the main."
