Molly Rand- Sung by Paul B. Lacy of Morgan County Kentucky, on 13 Nov., 1964. Collected by George Boswell.
Jimmy Randall was a-hunting,
Was a-hunting in the dark,
When he shot his true lover,
And he missed not his mark.
Jimmy ran to Molly's bosom,
And ten thousand tears he shed,
Saying, "Molly dearest Molly,
I've killed you, you're dead."
* * *
The day of the trial,
Molly's spirit did appear,
Saying, "Lawyer and jury,
Jimmie Randall came clear."
