Molly Bond- Georgia Peak (OK) pre1964 Moores
[From Ballads and Folk Songs of the Southwest, 1964 by the Moores.

Molly Bond, sung by Mrs. Georgia Peak of Jenks.
Molly Bond was out walking when a shower came on.
She sheltered beneath a peach tree, for a shower to shun.
With an apron pinned around her, she was taken for a swan;
Young Jim aimed in hunting, and he did not miss the mark.
Jimmie Randolph went running up to her and found she were dead;
On her snowy-white bosom a fountain she shed.
"With an apron pinned around you, I've taken you for a swan;
I've shot you and killed you, though your name be Molly Bond."
He went running to his uncle with his gun in his hand,
Crying, "Uncle, Uncle, will you listen to what I've done?
I've shot my own true love; she's the dearest of my life.
I have always intended to make her my wife."
"Stay home with your father till the trial is at hand
You should come clear, Jim, by the laws of our land."
On the day of Jimmie's trial, Molly's ghost did appear,
Saying, "Jimmie, Jimmie Randolph, You must come clear."
With an apron pinned around her, she was taken for a swan;
He's shot her and killed her, though her name be Molly Bond.
Come, all you fair people, and stand in a row,
Molly's ghost will stand before you like a mountain of snow.
