1 "Oh how old are you, my pretty fair maid,
How old are you, my honey?"
Quite modestly she answered me,
"I'll be sixteen come Sunday."

CHORUS: With my rue dummin ey, fallo the diddle ey,
 Right fol dol diddle ear-o.

2. "Oh you are too young, my pretty fair maid
You are too young to marry."
Quite modestly she answered me,
'You better come in and try me."
