Constant Farmer's Son- Eliza Small (Som) 1905
[Three stanzas plus music from Cecil Sharp Manuscript Collection (at Clare College, Cambridge) (CJS2/9/711)
R. Matteson 2016]
The Constant Farmer's Son - sung by Eliza Small of Langport, Somerset on 7 Sept., 1905. Collector: Sharp, Cecil J.
As Emma on her pillow lay,
She had a dreadful dream,
She dreamed she saw young Henry
Down by some crystal stream.
She gathered green leaves from the trees,
for to keep him from the sun,
For tonight and a day did she pass away
with the constant farmer's son.
