NOTES: Key D; Modulates to Key of A for vocal parts. One of the all-time great country fiddle melodies which Jim Rob (mandolin/fiddle) and John Wills (Bob's father) wrote, was the blues-type fiddle tune "Faded Love." Ruby, Bob's sister, loved for her father to play it: "It was slow and I could rest my figers for awile."
Wills arranged his father's tune and lyrics wre added. The song was copyrighted by Bob Wills in 1950.
Faded Love-Bob Wills
(Fiddle Solo in key D)
Verse: As I look at the letters
That you wrote to me,
It's you that I'm thinking of,
As I read the lines
That to me were so sweet,
I remember our faded love.
Chorus: I miss you, darling,
More and more, every day,
As heaven would miss the stars above,
With every heartbeat
I still think of you,
And remember our faded love.
Verse: I think of the past
And all the pleasures
As I watch the mating of the dove,
It was in the springtime
That you said good-bye,
I remember our faded love.
Chorus: I miss you, darling,
More and more, every day,
As heaven would miss the stars above,
With every heartbeat
I still think of you,
And remember our faded love,
And remember our faded love.
